Looking for a fishing partner...
« on: Jan 14, 2012, 09:54 AM »
So basically, the majority of my friends are terrified of ice fishing. Looking for someone who may also be looking for a fishing buddy. I've got my 8 year old daughter, and sometimes my wife, but nobody who wants to seriously get some fish.
On a lighter note, the guy I talked to in Bob Ward's on Friday afternoon who works for UPS, thanks for the info and the sharing of some fun fishing stories. Absolutely made my day, as work was a drag on Friday.

Hey how are you?  I as well am looking for someone to fish with.  Just moved to Missoula here in September from N. Idaho and don't know anyone. My fiance goes with me sometimes, but she isn't a big fan of being cold.  If your in the area let me know and we should try to get a fish in one of these weekends.

Thanks for the reach out. I'm located in the Bozone, but am willing to travel for a good day of fishing (or days). My new schedule gives me the weekends off from work, and on days I am working, I don't have to be in until 11 am.

There are a couple of us that live here in Bozeman. Always on the look out for more fishing partners. I am 43 and I have 4 kids 11, 9,8 and 3. Usually just have 1 of the kids with me and never the wife. She can't handle the popping ice. Probably won't be out this weekend as all 4 kids have walking pnuemonia and I am not feeling too hot either. If you're out on the local ponds, keep an eye out for a gold Dodge 2500 with a shell on it.  Keep in touch and maybe we can get together in the next week or two.

Once again, thanks guys on the feedback. Fysherman: I'll be on the lookout. I'm the guy in the Blue Dakota with topper. A lot of times it's got a canoe on it.

Fishman, good luck it is hard to find a good ice buddy that thinks like you. It is harder when you lose them. I just found a new fishing partner last year and we had one great ice season.

Good luck

I'm in Billings send me a PM if you want to go. I have an unusual work schedule so I like to fish the week days.  I would fish the heck out of Canyon Ferry if  I lived in Bozeman.  A guy has to do some traveling in Billings to get to any good hard water.   The yellowstone fishes good this time of year when it's this hot out though. :)

Both good spots.    Yellowtail and  Nelson at Ft. Peck in the dry arm are also outstanding.

I've done good out by Hysham. Also did good out off of Captain Clark, but that was 2 years ago. Cut bait, shrimp, and livers. (Nothing beats the Red River out in ND though. ::))

Hey Teters,

I live in Helena and have also been trying to find someone to fish with.  I also have an 8 year old daughter along with a 6 yo boy and a 18 month old daughter.  With 3 kids I don't get out as much as I would like but when I do, it is usually alone.  I mostly like fishing Hauser and Lake Helena for perch walleye and ling.  If you make it up this way, let me know and I would be happy to meet up with you.
