great day of fishing at Laphams bay in shorman
« on: Jan 16, 2012, 06:31 AM »
i ventured out this weekend onto lake champlain at laphams bay with my daughter and girlfriend and we had a wonderful day on the ice . we got several real big perch 12-14inches on tip ups using large shinners. and then we got a several smaller perch 7-11 inches jigging. my daughter had a huge sheep head on her tip that broke the line. i could not believe it was a sheep head , it was probabley abound 12-15 pounds. i got most of it on video. There was a bunch of guys who were fishing about 75 yards out from the boat launch that caught a 8-9 pound lake trout which surprised me because they were so close to shore and only in about 5 feet water. I used my new vexilar fl-20/ hd camera combo this weekend and what a awesome machine that things is. saw plenty of fish come in on the camera like a 2 bass, a small pike. and lots of panfish. i might go back over there next weekend and see if i can jig up some monster perch. Good Luck
