With this crazy weather, my season started 3 weeks late, and with some car issues and a death in the family, i have had a hard time finding the ice. How has your season been so far?

Sorry to hear about the death in the family icejunky. It has been an extremely weird winter and I am sure that most of us are are miffed at this crazy weather. I personally find though that the crowds are down which is good for the rest of us. If you really need a fishing fix you will get out. Personally I have not ventured away from the Ottawa area yet this year but I am chomping at the bit to get busy out there on the ice soon. The wife is going to visit her folks in Florida in February so that will give me lots of time to fish.

I think that this last rain and deep freeze will help conditions out and firm up the ice. Fingers crossed. See you out there. Might hit Quinte in February.

My condolences ICEJUNKY. Bass_Belt and I have ventured out a few times, we've hit Hogans a couple of times, the Depot lakes twice as well as the Bay of Quinte at Huffs once but the ice wasn't the greatest and our fishing got cut short by the OPP enforcing the no parking at Huffs. We've also hit the west end of Loborough once. Can't say we've had much luck so far this season. Here's hoping February brings some colder weather and better ice.

I hope you're able to get out on the ice a little more in the near future.

Sorry for your loss Icejunky.

Once to Island lake in Orangeville and twice to Cooks Bay on Simcoe. Was nice to get out. Fishing on Cooks is non-stop and the perch were biting at everything. Unfortunately the majority of the perch are <8". A few odd herring and caught a nice pike too.

Since Simcoe is taking it's sweet time, I most likely will take a nice drive north somewhere....just hard to know where to go. Heading to Bernard in February though. Might try Gull Lake (Miner's Bay) as well.

Anyone know anything about ice fishing Weslemkoon [east of Bancroft], Cross, Bark and Carson lakes [all three are north of Maynooth and Combermere, west of Barry's Bay]?

i have been out 7 times. 3 times to scugog, twice to lake st john, once to couchiching and once to little lake. i have only been skunked once.
i can't wait until BoQ tightens up i have never been out there before hard or soft.

First off, sorry for the loss.
As for fishing, been on the ice four times, but, that was four days in a row up at Nipissing...so just one trip really. Second time out will be this Sunday, Simcoe perch.

Say have you seen the crowds on that little pond across from Collins lake at Dixons, Whats going on there looks like a shanty village?
What are they fishing for? pike?

Started Dec 31 Ive been out 10 or more times and I got the reports posted to prove it apparently im the only one though every weekend both days and ive snuck off work early a few times for an evening fish

been out about 10 times,but not to regular spots as the ice is not coming like normal,even frenchman's bay has been iffy.

Been out almost evry week since December 26th beginning at Petrie Island then the Nation river around Casselman and Wendover Been out about 15 times so far this season.

It's been a really late season for me too, been out 6 times to the depot lakes, loborough, dog and BoQ, with a few multi-location days - so I can't complain, even though I had to take this weekend off to move. Thanks to that fancy 'new' flasher I've been having a relatively productive season so far
