Iowa to Rainy Lake

Guys,

I'm just getting started on IceShanty so be gentle.  I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about Rainy.  A couple of us are going up for a guys 3 day weekend.  I'm really excited since we haven't seen any ice down here in central Iowa.  It sounds like we should have ice when I get back so it looks like it's finally time to get on the ice.

Welcome, IowaIce!!! You're in the right place!!!  As for Rainy lake, the bite has been good this week, but not the ice...can't drive on it as of the 4th. In fact, the tourney up there this weekend is being moved to a different location, according to a buddy up there. That's the info from him. So, if ya go, please be careful!!! Um, that's as gentle as I can be.... ;D

And right behind you Reb with a suggestion for our newbie. Click on community and scroll down to Minnesota and post your question there. Also "google" Rainy Lake and there should be info for resorts and reports. Call a resort or someone up there because as Reb says, ice conditions are hosed even up there!!
