My old Honda was missing the front rack it originally came with, here's how I had it set up for ice fishing. I bolted a Mad Dog auger mount right to the back rack, and I had a folding 3 bucket rack hanging off the back as well.

The black box on the front is sitting on some pieces of flat bar that I made that rested on the front bumper and bolted to the existing rack mounts.
A bad day of fishing beats anything else I'd be doing today.....

All things are possible with a welder... ;D

The sterns mad dog auger rack will bolt to your rear cargo rack pretty easily. I like them because they support the weight of the power head, are nearly 100% secure, the price is pretty dang good, they are simple, and they won't bang your auger up. The velcro straps can be a pain with gloves on, but I am still a fan. I had a set on my wheeler...

Now I have a set on my fishing snow machine.

They work great.

You should check out Johnson Cargo Systems too. They sponsor us and have really great stuff. I checked out their racks at the ice show in St. Paul before they started sponsoring us and I was impressed with the quality.

If you are looking for a cheap setup that works great, use the Mad Dog. If you want to set that machine up for fishing, call Johnson's

They have bolts and plates that work with the flat plastic racks like that sportsman, and U-bolts for use on tubular racks. Slick as snot.

I use Mad Dog gun holders on my Rancher, $20.00 at Wal Mart. Use a piece of pipe insulation with some cable ties to cover the rack where the auger powerhead rests, use a bungee cord to secure the auger.
