considering there's like 4 foot of water throughout the majority of the lake, that's probably the smartest place to ice fish compared to other areas

To me getting wet would be worth it if I caught a 40"+ pike or Muskie. My definition of crazy is adults who target stocked trout   ???

That's not a smart comment though since you forgot you'll sink another 2 ft in muck. Alas, and when your equipment is at the bottom of the lake and your trying to fish it out while your soaking wet I'll be LMAO.

If that's the worst thing then maybe your rational in your thinking but as I already noted above:- what happens when your electronics are at the bottom of the lake? Then who's laughing?

I'm laughing because you think someone targeting trophy pike and muskie with tipups is carrying around electronics on the ice. Don't get me wrong, video games are fun, and I'll use the showdown to find depths, structure, and position my bait, but I'm not walking around with it on thin ice and it stays in my sled...which floats. Why do I know it floats? Because I've seen it float on open water while loaded with gear before ;D

haha that's great, definitely a good idea to test the floating ability of your sled before taking it out...Brilliant!

Lol, you're giving me too much credit. I didn't test the floating ability BEFORE I went out. I'm glad it does float though, otherwise I would have been screwed those times I had to use waders to get onto he ice.

I only started with electronics last year but I know the little bit of other equipment I have like an auger, tipups, jigging poles, spoon, safety equipment, etc......, etc.... ad infinitum I want to use again and again and not have to fish it out of the bottom of some lake. But I guess I'm over rational in my thinking............wh o thinks like me anyway, apparently not many!!
