Hello from McBride (newbie)
« on: Jan 04, 2012, 09:07 AM »
Hello and Happy New Year !

Just moved to McBride from the Yukon so I am not famililar with the local lakes yet. I was going to check out LaSalle, Kinbasket and Moose. Other than these I dont know any other lakes. I need to get some maps and start looking now that I am moved in and have until Feb off of work  ;D.

Any tips for lakes and techniuqes would be more than welcome and appriciated.

With all this warm weather we are having I wonder about the ice ??

Thanks and have a great ice fishing season !!

Kinbasket has awesome fishing for bull trout, dont know about winter and if it freezes, I have only fished it at the south end north of Golden.  Also really good ling fishing.

Go talk to the guy that owns the gas station in town, he is a great guy and may be able to give you some info.

Good luck and you live in a beautiful spot!!!!

La Salle has some nice trout in it, probably do quite well ice fishing there I think though I have never tried it. My wife is from there and I lived there for a bit but more fished the rivers. If you want some great fishing spots for the rivers when then pm me and I'll pass a few your way
There's always a bigger fish... and I'm going to get it!

Welcome to the Shanty. Feel free to look around. The only problem is most of the guys here are from around Prince George but some may have fished there. Check at your local sporting good stores, they probably have some info for you as well. Don't forget to post pics of your outings.  ;)

Shere Lake for brook trout.  It is stocked and you should do well.   Just might be the valley's best kept secret.
