New to CO
« on: Dec 26, 2011, 08:23 PM »
Hey everyone, Just moved out to the Colorado Springs area and ready to find some fish. Is it worth trying to fish Monument Lake or Pueblo Reservoir? I am not picky as to what the lake has for fish but would like to get into some walleyes/perch or pike. I enjoy trout fishing and have not caught one through the ice so that option is also a bonus. Any information would be great, thanks and good luck.

From the Springs its not too far to Eleven Mile or Antero for trout and some of the best ice fishing in the state. Pueblo and the tailwater below stay ice free. The res has good fishing for warm water species and trout. Welcome to Colorado.

monument lake is an excellent  icing trout lake, for newbies, kids and trying out new gear.  just watch the weather, that lake can open up pretty fast.
