I fished there last spring caught some dink gills & crappie. Talked to a guy in a canoe. He was bass fishing, said he caught a 7 pounder the year before. He said of some very big slabs when you can find them.

A mile or so from the abandoned town of Masten - sorta creepy place.

I fished it in the warm months a couple times - dink pannies - I was limited to shore access. Very stumpy place, probably holds some Bubba bass.

Even if the roads were maintained in winter, I would think hard about it, dodging the lumber trucks that fly around them very windy dirt roads was a challenge in good weather.

A buddy and I took a ride up cabbage hollow rd on out 1970's Honda Trail 90's and had to be pretty innovative to make bridges to get across some of the gaps left by the September floods. This area was really hit hard in September. We cam across 3 bridges that needed fixed and I don't know if they were on the priority list as they aren't in a high traffic area. Only way we could get to Bear wallow was to go around a few locked gates on the bikes. I don't know the road status as of now though. Just don;t want you to make a trip for nothing on those crappy roads. I do know there are a lot of pickerel in that pond though.
