minnows
« on: Dec 06, 2011, 09:40 PM »
Simple, quick question...

What does it take for minnows to stay alive?

If I go fishing and have them throw a couple scoops of minnows in my bait bucket and I don't use them all that day and want to keep them alive for the following weekend?

I think I will go buy one of those frabill bubblers that run on batteries. What kind of food source do they need? Fish food from the pet store?

Buy a cheap aquarium bubblier plug into the wall and add a air stone. Keep in the garage on back wall away from doors. Should keep them around for a couple weeks. Maybe buy some better bait. It ain't cheap but works good. Change the water out as needed.
Flags up! Bobbers down!

Change water (let it sit for a couple days in a separate bucket first), don't feed them, keep the water bubbling.  Better off getting a cheap AC pump from the pet store, and use the battery pump for when you're on the ice.

Check out the bait tanks thread for more ideas.
