Northern Colorado Action??
« on: Nov 29, 2011, 02:35 PM »
Hey Hardwater Folks...

Any reports of ice conditions and fishing action in the Northern Mountains & foothills?
Red Feather, Cameron Pass area, etc., etc. ??

Tight lines to you all,

The Woodsman   ;)

I saw a report that said there was 10" of good ice on Joe Wright this past weekend.  Nothing about Chambers.  Delaneys were a couple-three inches as was Lake John.  John was reported to have some open water as well.

I went to RED Feathers on Saturday last week and killed it over 100 fish, Of course i kept my limit tho, but the ice is safe/unsafe reason saying was the shoreline had about 1-2" of ice which cracked but when you got onto the main middle area it was 3-4" of hard ice...

Still open water on Granby and Williams Fork, but it looks like some favorable weather rolls in tonight and sticks around for a while....
Fished Granby this weekend and there was a little ice forming in the little inlets

Thanks guyz!
Woke up to 11 degrees in Fort Fun this am.  The high country forecast looks like great ice-making weather the next few days.  Everywhere should thicken up well!

I fished Douglas res./Wellington #4 the last two days and did pretty decent on perch and got a few nice rainbows.

Went up with my today with a few guys to the private lakes up at Red Feather (Ramona, Apache, etc).  Caught about 40 between me and my pops from 15 to 21 inches.  We have a 3 fish limit and at the end of the day between the 4 of us the 12 keepers we had on the stringer were all 17- 21 inches!  Any other Ice Shanty members have access to those lakes?!?!  OH about 7 inches of ice :) heard Parvin, Doubty, West are all about the same .
