every year for the last 6 years i have been driving my truck on lake winnebago by Jan 1.... this year that might not be happening unless we get SERIOUS weather changes. I am thinking i might be able to get out by atv but even that is pushing it.....

Sorry for the lack of info in the question, Walleye and perch. Do you run mono on the tipup? Wahta setup on the tip-up and run minnows for the perch? Have you tried gulp for perch, and if so, has it worked well?

i dont tip up fish until i find some fish that will eat... Bago is huge and the fish are suspended on the mud flats so covering water is the best bet for success. Tipp ups keep you locked into a spot for too long. Use a flasher and fish a hole for no longer than 20 mins. I you dont catch anything than move a few hundred yards or maybe a mile, what ever you feel like... Keep doing this all day until you actually find fish. If you go out there and just drill some holes and throw out some tip ups your wont be very productive at all......

I dont know man.... Just might be able to still drop a boat in Jan 1. Its wide open now with no major cool down in the forecast, in fact they are calling for 40 degrees again tomorrow and into 30's the better part of the week coming up. 2 weeks till Jan 1, I dont think its going to happen.
