Waiting = Trip to ER!

Unfortunately waiting for ice stirs up ideas to do or try out before we get out on the ice. To bad it had to end in a trip to ER for stitches. I was trying to cut a section out of a clear Plano tackle box when box knife slipped and
cut wrist just below hand. I was so embarrassed to tell them how I did it. My wife and daughter went with me
so I didn't change the story when I got there. Back home now and think I'll kick back and watch football and
drink some beer. Tomorrow i have to work at SDI and I'm dreading it already. The doctor did give me some new
hemostats and cutters that they make disposable. He asked if I fish and I said yes and he said they just throw them away now and don't sterilize them anymore. Well I hope everyone Else's mods and down time are less
eventful than mine was. Come on ice!

Understood, Buddy.  Three years ago I had 4 stitches due trying to use One of those hand auger sharpener thingys.  About Four hundred bucks later I felt like a GOOFBALL.  Good to hear you are ok.

Not sure if I will be out there for that shutdown or not. I have already heard people talking about it. I was out there when they did the womens locker room last winter into early spring. Will do though if I make it. Have a

About 1989 I was pulling my ice fishing box through the woods that separate little silver from big silver lake south of Warsaw, I had a jiggin rap dangling from one of my rods when it got caught on a weed and stretched the line real tight, when I stopped to unhooked the rap, the weed pulled loose and shot the treble hook into my hand just below the thumb, I'm talking past the bend and to top it off, the hook on the front of the rap also buried like the treble. The guys I was fishing with tried to get it out but all we really did was push it in deeper. Finally, after about 10 or 20 minutes of trying I told my buddies to just clip off the hooks. Wrong, wasn't one of my better ideas! I left a blood trail all over that lake, well after fishing for about three hours I couldn't take it any more and had to let one of my buddies drive me home. Well when I got home my wife drove me to the ER and they had to cut out the hooks. I still have to listen to her tell that story everytime icefishing comes up in conversation. We did get some nice crappie that day though, and my buddies cleaned the fish. One of the guys has past since, but he would always remind me the length's I would go to, to get somebody to clean my fish. great guy! and I sure miss the hard water fishing we did together.

People forget alot of things. But some of them they hold onto for awhile. Sad thing is that it is at our expense.
