Sophomore Season
« on: Nov 30, 2011, 10:21 PM »
This will be my 2nd year ice fishing.  Had a ball learning a few things last year and caught quite a few perch.  (but no walleyes) :P  I'm hoping to go to Waubay this winter, but have never been there.  If anyone could give me an idea where to start, I'd appreciate it.  Not looking for your honey hole, just an area to start.  Thanks!

stop at the Sportsmen's in Webster and they'll help you out i'm sure. Plenty of fish in that lake, we always fished off the private boat ramp on the east side and drove out. Worked pretty slick.

on the north end by Grenville off the public access is a strart. On that lake, look for the crowds and that will put you in the general vacinity.I was up there Sat. and if the dock would have been still out i coulda put the boat in.Big lake was all open water but was froze over but wind opened it up and it maybe refroze but the wind is blowing right now again and its supposed to get around 50mph between now and midnight.I sure hope Pickerel Lake stays locked up cause it was alot of fun their on Sat.Will keep you updated with Waubay when its good to go.
