A little preliminary product testing in the fish tank.

I picked up two sizes of the glow sexy shad.  The smaller 1 1/2" size was lousy in the tank test performance.  It has a light rattle and it vibrates only so so on the lift.  It has some forward movement but very much like other lipless cranks.  It has a fast sink rate, so tight lining it on the free fall is a requirment.  Almost no wobble on free fall.

The larger 2" size worked so much better than the smaller 1 1/2" size.  The rattle noise is very audible.  It has a firm vibration on the lift.  Free fall and it has some wobble to it as well.  The action of this lure has good potential for fish catching.

These will make for great open water lures.  They will see some hard water, just for fun.

thanks for the review slipperybob... I was planning on purchasing a couple 2" and you review reinforces my decision... i think the gold perch and sexy shad will be the initial testers

I just noticed a dimple on the head of the smaller Live Forage Rippin' Shad and it was so muck alike with another 1/8 th oz.  micro lipless rattle crankbait I bought years ago from Wallymart store by Renegade.  So I went to compare the two.  I looked both over and it's basically a silhouette of each other except for a few cosmetics.  The Renegade micro crankbait had a dorsal fin and some epoxied eyes.  It's nothing exceptional about lure action and now it's no surprise that the Northland version's action didn't impress me much either.  No authenticity for this lure.  Same body mold I reckon.

To compare it to the 2 inch Rippn' Shad, it looks like a completely different body design.  For one thing, no dimple on head of lure.  A closer examination also reveals a slight bulge in the belly of lure, making it more pronounced.
