Dukes69 and I headed out for some early hardwater action today.. Was steady with over 12 fish caught, both rainbows and brookies..
Had to hike in a ways but was well worth it.. There was only a couple inches of ice, with open air pockets around so had to be very careful where we walked..  Big areas in the middle of the lakes looked like just froze up like last nite.. hehe

We decided to keep a few eater brookies for supper, the rainbows were skinnier then the brookies..

Dukes69 lucked out and caught the biggest brookie of the day at 3 pounds 8 ounce:













Was a good outing with hopefully many more in the near future..
Hopefully in the next few days there will get up to 3-4" of ice with the cold weather here---crossing fingers...

I was out too...  but only for 20 min.   On the way back from a wasted day in PG I stopped and wet a line,   only had 1 nibble    :(   nothing landed,   ice was cracking under my feet.....  sketchy,   only 3 inches    if that!

Ya it wasn't to bad of a walk just a little scetchy with only 2 inches of ice under us.  I caught that big one 30 seconds after I put my line in the water. nice way to start the day.

great pics guys. sounds like a successful trip. we had a couple bites today too but the ice thickness forced us to bail out early. maybe next weekend

Me and BB hit GP again today , but only for an hour again on the way home from PG,  2 bites from little ones who stole my bait,  thats it   :'(    the ice is only a few inches thick,  we wore floater suits, and its slushy, Rubber boots are recomended

Still waiting for fishable ice here in NH. Probably wont happen for another 3-4weeks :-\  and there are alot of us getting impatient!  :whistle:
