Bionic Ice, Bad Batch?

I wanted to try the Northland Bionic Ice this year so I bought a couple spools of 4lb.  The first spool I opened had a rough texture, not jagged, but rough.  I just thought that was supposed to be how it is.  Tonight I was spooling another reel and saw the words "Smooth and Tough" on the package.  The second spool was way smoother than the first.  I am wondering if anyone else has found a rough spool when opening?  Not sure if I need to send it back or if it's ok to use?

You've just described what I found in Trilene XL back when I used it exclusively.  Box says smooth, but my fingers on the line says otherwise.  Sometimes the line from on spool is smoother than another, but had too many that aren't so smooth.

I noticed that same problem also! Think I might have to switch brands.  Used it all last year with good sucess, but did not like the 4 spolls i put on this year!
