I will be attending college at Northern Michigan University (naturally pursuing a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management) next year, and I was wondering how the ice fishing is in the UP? I am from a small town just north of the Ohio Border, and I was wondering how the ice fishing compared on the polar opposite of the state? Down here I know the season is a bit shorter, but some of the local lakes around have some EXCELLENT panfish opportunities that will be hard to give up...
I may sound Naieve, but are there equal opportunites for panfish in the UP? I prefer panfish, but if needed...I will target other species. Ice fishing is my life come winter time, so I guarantee I will be on the ice no matter what the fishing is like.
Thank you all,
