Scheels in Appleton
« on: Oct 02, 2011, 08:51 AM »
Hey guys, hope you survived through the summer.  Anyways for those of you who like to get ready for ice fishing early, Scheels in Appleton is starting to get their stuff in.  As of last night, they had all their shelters, most electronics, a third of their jigging rods, and 1 box full of different lures.  Their will be a lot more by next weekend I am sure.  I don't work there, I just saw last night.  I actually dug through the box of lures that they still had to put on the shelf to see if there was anything I wanted.  There was  ;D.  Il post updates when I see that they are getting more.

I was at the Gander Mountain in Green Bay this weekend. They were getting the aisles ready to put out all the ice fishing stuff.

I will.  I live like 10 minutes away so I'm there pretty often:)

I am jealous.  Down here by Janesville they barely even think about getting the ice fishing stuff out until around thanksgiving.  I am definitely needing to scratch the itch.

If I lived that close to Scheels I would need a second job.  I live about 45 minutes away and I try to make it there every month or 2.  I love that store.  Im usually already on the ice before the local fleet farm gets stocked with there ice fishing stuff.

I had to stop at Fleet Farm last night and checked out the fishing aisles. They had just put out a bunch of the Beaver Dam tip ups, the special edition Packer Green/Gold, the Black Jolly Roger and the all red ones.

Thanks for the info on that.  I live really close to that too(7minutes or so), and I need another Beaver Dam so I'll head over this weekend

Went there to Fleet Farm yesterday. A lot of sales going on with rods. Some of the shacks are out, however, none of the new otter ones yet.

Prolly head to Scheel today to see what's going on over there.

Your Fleet Farms must be better than the one in Hudson.  You can go in there and most of the pegs on the display racks are empty.  I go there often and I don't think they have restocked anything for over a year.  If something is sold out they don't get it in again or never reorder it whatever the case may be.  I use to enjoy looking around to see what was new, on sale, etc. but now it is always the same. What a disappointment.

Oshkosh's Fleet is pretty bare, just the back wall and the side with poles/tipups.  Appleton's Fleet has a lot more out, I need to swing past and grab a few new jigs.  Still need to hit up Gander/Scheels.

Fleet Farm in Appleton is all loaded up. Same with Sheels, and Cabelas down near Milwaukee. I just ordered some new tip ups and I am ready for some ice.

Gander Mountain in Woodbury, MN has most of their stuff out.  Stopped in on Sunday to look around and picked up a couple St Croix "Gold" spring bobbers for $6.99 each.  The new ones are Stainless Steel (probably because of the price of gold) and are selling for $8.99. Didn't really need them but when you ice fish you buy ANYTHING that's a good buy :cookoo: :cookoo:
