Otter Wild Shanty Question
« on: Oct 20, 2011, 10:50 AM »
I was looking into buying one of the new Otter Wild T600 flip overs.  I sat in one yesterday at the local Gander (yes ice fishing stuff is starting to be put out!) and noticed that where the tent connects to the sled, every foot or so there is a small gap between the clips that are used to attach the tent.  This looks like it would allow some draft in as I could easily see light through the gap.  Anyone else notice this, and is it enough to be an issue?

Also any feedback you have on the Otter portables in general would be appreciated.

Thanks Guys!

There has to be some gaps to let out the bean pharts, otherwise everything would start floating skyward.   ;D  I've got an Otter, those gaps are no problem,  lets a bit of fresh air in when the heaters going.

Do the clips seem to hold without an issue?  Was wondering if you need to add any screws to make sure they are secure?

I have a Pro Lodge. When I put mine together I did use the screws that were provided for the tent to the tub. I store mine in a workshop off my garage and dont have a critter problem. Its just a piece of mind for me. but you really dont have to use the screws because it holds tight to the tub.

If they are still using the trim-lock, Ive never had an issue.  It can be a pain to put on the first time due to the fact that it is folded up in the box and it gets creased in some spots.  Once you get it on, it wont come off (unless you want it to).  Air leaks wont be an issue.
