Hey all.
« on: Mar 09, 2011, 09:47 PM »
New to icefishing.  First time ever on the ice in Wisconson a few weekends ago for a 4000 hole tourney.  Can't believe how much fun I had.  Just sad I can't hit it right away since we are pretty much done here in NE.

Look forward to gaining any info I can.  Been perusing the posts and am finding lots of great info.

Fished a private lake south of Merrit today.  Ice was 8" at most and 6" at a few of the last holes.  Better hurry if your coming this way.  Winds forcast for tomorrow gonna eat it off quick.  Merritt should last a little longer on the Beeds area and the Boardman.  Will post on the refuge lakes condition as soon as I hear anything.

Fishing should be the exercise of your skills- and its rewards the places it brings you to

I have never been up to Merrit before. We are out at Halsey most falls doing some hunting with the bows....just never went up from there.  Couldn't believe we had a lake in NE that was 100' deep!   LOL     Will definitely have to make it a point to get up there this year.
