Horrible interference on x67c
« on: Mar 03, 2011, 09:44 AM »
I went out yesterday to a deep lake (150'+) along with about 10 other guys ... all with various flashers

No matter what i did i couldn't get away from the interference unless i was well over 100 yards away  .... and the ducer was hanging below the ice.

I had noise reduction on high, surface clarity off, ping speed at 100  ........  i could turn the sensitivity way down but i would lose my jig way up in the water column

I've had similar problems when close to vexes but a little distance and turning on noise reduction would solve it ... but i was only in 80 feet or so.

Any thoughts??

I had the same problem using my HB787 close to my FL-18. I found nothing to fix the problem other than distance, I could fish with the noise I had but it was an annoyance. If you find a solution I'd like to know what it is. Good luck.

Now you'll get to hear from the muppets telling you you should throw it out and buy an LX5.

Several years ago I had a guy at a ($2) blackjack table giving me a real hard time over how I was playing and affecting the cards he got  ???. An older guy at the end of the table got fed up, stood up looked the guy in the eye and said "When you give him money to bet with you can have the right to b**ch, until then shut up and play your own hand". You just brought back the memory vividly.

I'm really interested in finding out how you resolve the problem though. I have to fish 75yds from my girlfriend and drop what I'm doing every time she hooks one.

i have fished around all the brands and the hummy was the only one that gave me any trouble but we both adjusted and all was well i have a fl18 deep and have fished it with in 3' and no trouble  I'm confused

We've been fishing with 3 x67c,s together this season, and we've been trying everything to cut interference. Although we haven't been in that deep of water this is whats been working for us. Once everybody is set and can see their jig, if there is interference, ONE guy adjusts his sensitivity one notch at a time (up or down) and we can reach a point when all int. is gone.  You'll also notice that the int. changes locations on the screen as you adjust the sens. Maybe you'll find a setting that at least moves the int to the top of the screen? The other possibility would be to set upper and lower limits to a narrower portion of the water col,and zoom to 4 x,  and or, go to a horizontal profile jig if you have to make big sensitivity changes and still see your jig?   I sent an email to Lowrance 2 weeks ago about this but haven't got an answer yet from them?????????? :-\ :-\

Had the same issue fishing a X67 next to a LMS332C. Go into your options and change the frequency on one of your units.

Once you get the lowrance dailed in right you shouldnt have to mess with it too much for IR. I have fished mine 3 feet away from a vexilar with no interference. We seem to mess with the IR on the vexilar more than the lowrance when we use them close together.

I used my FL 20 Tribeam and my X67C in the same shack all day without any issue, other than a big smelly skunk.

We were fishing in 100' of water. Shallow water fishing it has no interference problems.
