whlse sports saskatoon
« on: Feb 16, 2011, 10:25 AM »
starting to wonder if its just me or are the staff here just rude and not helpful. been there a couple of times and the staff are more interested in talking to each other or they turn the other way when you start to look in there area. I thought it's cause i'm an ugly so n so but they did it the other day to the wife too  even their head office doesn't care     or is it just my imagination

seems to be the general consensus.  love getting ignored by staff when i'm trying to get a price on something because they don't put prices on most of their products due to them being outrageously over-priced.

i'd recommend a boycott and shopping at the fishing hole and/or online instead.

Yup that's wholesale sports for ya. I was in there for a hour the other day and when I walked in I passed the optics section and two guys standing by the sleeping bags talked the whole time to one other and didn't even say hi to anypne walking by

I quit going there, prices are too hig, staff that treat you like you have an infectious disease and no bait pretty much made up my mind. I hear Cabela's is coming into Saskatoon. that should pretty much shut that place down.

Wholesale sports has the rudest staff I have ever seen. Only way I would go back there is if there is a HUGE sale or if I can't find what I need anywhere else. Even then I would be more likely to go online to find what I need.

There is one guy in Saskatoon in the fishing electronics section that is great.  He is younger and stutters a bit but knows his stuff because he fishes lots and knows the lakes where people go.  The other yahoos there just chat, text or go in the back when you try to find them.  What do you expect when you hire teenage girls for a hunting/fishing store, probably all PETA lovers.  As for the fishing hole, they are friendly and willing to help but their stock is never updated and the shelves are empty.

Gotta Say I Was in the fishing Hole this weekend with full intentions of walking out with a new Fish Finder or Flasher and got such crappy service from some Grumpy old man I walked out with nothing.  Also agree the shelves were Kinda bare save a full wall of rapellas.  All in all got the attitude I was interupting thier coffee break.  I Manage a retail store in the Fort and if any of my staff acted this way to customers they would be gone.
Just my opinions and you know what they say about opinions. ! Everyones got one

Those empty shelves are why i make a trip to a Cabela's or a Bass pro and stock up, was in wholesale and the fishing hole last week and the stock was pretty depleted. I understand inventory management but they seem to be taking it to another level.

I buy most of my gear in the states or order it online. I'm a big fan of supporting sask businesses but if they won't make any effort or show any interest in getting my business I will go somewhere where I can get it cheaper. I don't mind paying a bit extra to support local business but in my opinion they have to work for it.

i was at wholesale sports in saskatoon this past weekend i was looking at reels for about 15 minutes-the two workers in this section were five feet from me and never asked if i needed help-so i went to the fishin hole and bought a reel there where i was helped almost immediately. tfn will get my business in the future.

i was in there last week and the young fella mentioned earlier came right up to me helped me find what i was looking for, pointed out what was on sale i was happy. But there was a couple guy looking at ice shacks pretty ticked that they couldn't get any help. i told them to get " that guy " , when i left they were loading up a shack. problem is it takes more than one good employee to run a store that size.

I have found that the fishing hole's service has improved a lot over the past couple of years. Can't say the same for Wholesale Sports.

My experience's at Fishin' Hole...you barely get through the door and they are talking to you already. Eric is great there...always helpful.

I have had nothing but poor service at wholesale. No use detailing it,  if you have been there you know!
