Only 30 dollars for the whole year. Just buy a license.  Its the cheapest part of fishing.  Consider fuel unless you live on a lake, tackle, bait and food and drink.

These free fishing days are a good idea.
It gives people who don't normally fish a chance to try it and see if they like it.
Someone who doesn't have a licence probably doesn't own any fishing gear either.
This is a chance for those of us that do fish to take someone out and show them what fishing is all about.
Some of these people will take to it and become regular licence buying fisherpeople. This is probably the biggest reason these free fishing days were  invented.
Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.

There was talk of it last year by some of the conservation groups in the province and a push was made with SE, but their response was "that there was already one weekend in the summer and that if people wanted to try ice fishing, they could buy the 3 day permit and give it a shot."
It would seem to contradict their mandate to promote Saskatchewan's Natural resources.  Get some new people out and trying a sport, all while learning about ecology and conservation.
Other provinces in Canada have put these promotions into place and have had great results...especially with youth anglers and hunters.

It is as good idea. Why not do a couple of free 2 day licenses.  The weather is not always fishable, that way a person could go and try at their convenience.
