Good luck with an ATV......may be better using snow shoes
The closest flag up may be the one that is behind you !

Well its probably not slushy.  St albans bay is probably predominately 2 layers of ice.  The recent layer can be as thick as 6 inches or almost non existant.  I walked out in a few spots and fell through in a spot or two.

the top layer is not thick at all if my post did not make sense. the snow insulates the slush leaving a thin layer of ice or no ice on top at all,

Was on Carmi last weekend, Snow - then Slush - then Ice .  The combined snow-slush was too deep for trucks and only saw 0ne four-wheeler trying to get out.  I was on foot and got real tired getting anywhere.... have a solution now

Well, its for the young individuals, who have snowshoes, and can afford the bait, etc.  Those that can't are awaiting your catch reports? ;D

Carmi you are only getting out on snow shoes or snowmobile. Highgate springs has a road plowed out to gander bay and out to goose bay. Just got back from highgate springs. If you drive out to gander there is alot of water in the road. A couple of feet of water for probably half the way out.
