Fort Peck Ice?
« on: Feb 18, 2011, 12:12 PM »
Hey guys. Anyone know how the ice is at peck? I will be heading up from billings four-wheeler-less. Any tips on where to go where fishing and ice will both be good?

Clint told me it was fine with three inches of snow, zero degrees and some slush pockets that won't affect you if you are walking. People were catching pike and perch near the Hell Creek ramp and also further up the bay around the Scout Camp. Find some willows in about 8-12 ft and fish the edges.

That seems like an awful long way to go to just to fish by the marina?  But if you get out there, that's all that matters I guess. ;)

They were wacking them pretty good right off the ramp a month ago. One of the best spots has been stright across the bay really.

We were going this weekend but had to change our plans, but we were thinking of just heading back into the bay rather than going seven or eight miles out with the shaky ice out on the main lake for this time of year.
