JUST WONDERING??
« on: Jan 31, 2011, 10:49 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has brought a snowblower out for the deep snow.  i was pondering if i should try blowing some paths around my shanty for my tipups for the derby this weekend. there is solid ice around my shanty with no slush right now so i don't think that will be a problem.  the only issue is getting it there as a wheeler wont get there after the snow.  gonna have to make a few trips with a snowmobile and my sled to get all my crap out there cause there was slush on the way out.  just never seen anyone use one

I saw someone do that on Bomoseen once, looked like a good idea, but they were sorry later, the paths they made filled with water, their tipups were under water and it was very slippery.

The spot was also high and dry before they started, but as soon as the first hole was drilled, up came the water.

X2

It was an ugly scene for sure...Keep the snow around your hole this weekend unless you don't mind your tipup in 4+" of water!
