I have a travel cover on mine because I tow it behind my snowmobile, I take out the rod case and flasher and the auger. Everything else slides to the bottom, but it all stays in there.

I have a Pro too and I think they are heavy. Add a flasher, camera, tackle, heater, skimmer and you've got yourself a full load.

I've went to a different approach.

If I'm only fishing a few hours, which is common, I leave the seat out and just sit on a padded bucket in the pro. That full seat is a ton of weight!  I try to keep my tackle and heavier things in the bucket.

For all day fishing I just tough it out but take heavier things out before I load and unloand and leave the seat in.

For some reason, they are ungainly to lift in. My old Guide was easier to tip and Slide. I've told many people they are better off with the Guide than Pro sized.

I put mine into the back of the truck fully loaded. BUT I pack light.

small heater
2 1 lb lp tanks
1 rod
flasher
ice scoop

thats it. Pick the whole she bang up and throw her in the back of the truck! BUT I also have to add I think I am half the age of a few of you....

Maybe I should use a ramp or something as I already have a handful of herniated discs.

I just prop one end up on the tailgate, grab the rope to keep it from sliding off while I get to the front of the sled, lift and slide it in and done. If someone else is along just grab the sides and throw it in, even my wife can do it.

yup, I extrememly careful with it.... Everyone tends to get alittle sloppy when they have a bucket full of rods. Bring one rod out with you and you guard it like its your child ;D

I have the bench seat in my shack, all rods are secured under the bench.

I'm 16, 5'6" 125 and can load me and my bros Yukon into the back of the truck by myself if i go alone.  Just lift the front end up and lean it against the tailgate, then hop down and pick the back end and slide it in.  Is tough for me but i'm a small guy! :D

Anyone use a Smitty Sled?  I invert mine with the tips wedged into the back edge of my Explorer and just slide it up in one push from behind. Real Slickon the ski bottoms. Then Just take apart and throw on top of the sled.
