Wow aggressive perch out there. I caught a jumbo on a #5 rap. And then i got a walleye smaller than the perch! I'm also learning the lake. I'm thinking 3rd reef is a little better? Cause its deeper. Just my guess, but i don't know much about that lake.

yeah i would drop a #5 with waxies down and they wouldnt even look at it! i might have to try 3rd next time eh? the other thing i was thinking of was further north in the shallower water by garth point. that looks like a place where a trophy eye would be hanging around.

I ran into a guy on wednesday that told me was hammering the perch on 2nd reef. I asked the size and he said nothing under 11inches. When I said "You gotta be kidding me" he showed me 19 fish! No lie. I havent tried yet but maybe on tuesday. He said that are biting up until around 10am and they are done. I guess good luck and hope this info helps! But, its 2nd hand info and he couldve been lyin to me.

i can attest to the jumbos biting on 2nd reef the other day. only the smallest i got was 10".

any one care to share if they have sucess fishing walleye in the shallower water by garths point and the days river mouth?

Not necessarily a spot to target the eyes right now.....but is a good place to catch perch and get hammered.by a big eye at any given time of the day!  Also a good spot for night fishing eyes.
