Hi broadst,

Kamloops has lots of good options; Depends what you want. By this time of year, access to many lakes is restricted to snowmobile. Most that are vehicle accessible and fish well (at least sometimes) are VERY popular. Some are: Heffley, Little Heffley, Red, Tunkwa/Leighton, Knouff, Lac Le Jeune, McConnell, Stake, Walloper, Edith, Pinitan, Paul, Monte (kokanee), Bleeker, Horseshoe, Black, Tulip/Rose, Logan, Forest. Many of the area's quality waters are closed to ice-fishing.

Tranquille is a bit less popular because of its distance, much of it on a main haul road with some good hills. The action is very good, but the fish are small (1.5 lbs would be VERY good). It has small kokanee too, but they usually take a bit of effort to find in any numbers. Because it gets a fair bit of snow, it's also usually quite slushy.

Truda is very shallow and you'll have to trudge across snow 3' deep to find the 7' hole in the middle, for no better fishing than you'd find at Tranquille. I've never seen kokanee there, although you'd expect some there because of the good year-round connection to Tranquille.

With a snowmobile, you'll be able to access Badger/Spooney, Campbell/Scuitto, McGlashan (brookies), Frisken, Hyas, Duffy, Dairy and a few others.

Walloper is a popular kid's fishery. Action guaranteed. Some of the others get pretty stingy, particularly later in the season.

Get out there and have fun.
