Wakaw Lk.
« on: Mar 19, 2011, 01:24 PM »
A fellow shantyman and myself gave the lake an honest effort yesterday and managed to catch quite a few perch. Lots in the 8'' but some over 10'', one flag but no hookup. Perch bit small lures tipped with mealies or eye's, 20-26 ft. depth, south side of lake. Shallow water till about 300 yards from shore where we fished, walkout or sleds needed as snow is still well over a foot with a bad crust on top, ice is still good 30'' plus.

That is pretty much straight out from my cabin. We used to hammer perch around there all year long. Most of the time we ice fished around Nickorick. That was some time ago though. Used to ice perch, walleye and pike.
