Take her regardless...

... unless you're afraid she's going to catch more fish than you and embarrass you in front of your friends. ::)
      2 that  ;)
life is not a journey to the grave with the expectation of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body;but rather to (skid in) broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW what a ride

My better half comes with me! She helps a bit with equipment but gets the wine ready and all the eating pleasures.

Then we talk about how nice it is to be away from the city.

I'm lucky for sure.

My son isn't married yet. Every time he wants to take a gal out to ice fish,he doesn't here from them any more. I told him that the one that does go icefishing, is good ,just make sure that she has her own tackle. You don't want her using your stuff. Jerry

I'm in the same boat, it's great.  I've found the best way to get them to understand is to take them to a place with fast action on a day they can stand the temps and a good group, by the end of the day they'll be pointing out the flags before you do.  And then they will understand

Just my thoughts...but it is going to be a very long boring life if your significant other gets upset because you want to go fish?!?!?!?!

It would be one thing if you were going to the bar all the time, or out looking for chicks.  But everyone should fish!!!

my wife said that very thing ,she thinks some women are just born goofy

... For some people, ice fishing is all about getting away from the wife ... to the mancave (hardside shanty with heat and fridge) on the ice in order to crack a cold one in peace. The fishing is secondary.

some statements are general for men. peace and quiet or my wife says selective hearing and most mens brains are in there jeans. she was first my lover than my friend and for the last twenty years or so my wife. we have been married for 47 years and any one will tell you she derserved better but she will tell you she loved every minute of it. she fished and hunted with me until she had her knees replaced. she made all my spinning and noodle rods. she ties egg sacks for steelhead fishing and when younger picked all the night crawlers. if you can top that for a good catch i can tell you more. doesn't sound like most of todays young ladies. go fishing and have fun......

For mine to get her to go once in a while a bigger hard side shack helped allot.  But she said that  it needs a bathroom in it.  Guess I will have to build another one, this time a little bigger and better.  That does not bother me one bit though.  Will be fun to build another shack lol

i just wish i could catch fish when my girlfriend is with me. i wanna be able to show her a good time and show her the trill of catching fish through the ice, but we get skunked every time we go out together. she says "im bad luck!" i tell her there is no such thing as luck, i just planned wrong, picked out the wrong spot, the bite want on...etc. she is still willing to go with me and freeze her little butt off though.....now thats a keeper in my book.
