Vexilar FL-8 TROUBLE
« on: Jan 13, 2011, 07:35 PM »
My FL-8 started acting up on me a few days ago. It will work fine for 20 minutes just how it should, then all of the sudden it will send a 1.5 inch bar of color around in a clockwise pattern just around and around and around. Now once it starts doing that if I turn it off and let it sit for 10 or so minutes and turn it back on it will be fine for 20 minutes again and repeat the same messed up round about. Anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?

is the IR light flashing?  if so, charge the battery.  thats what happens to ours when the battery is going dead.

You can get a new battery for under $30. get one or borrow a friends battery and hope that fixes the problem. I realy think its the battery mine did that once when I thought my battery wascharged but I must not have had one of the clips on good recharged battery and it works fine now. But I do carry an extra battery now to be safe.

I'd say its time for a new battery. If you have a boat, hook it up to a 12v battery (tape the flats to the terminal) and see if it does the same thing. Could do it with your truck battery if you want.

You can get a battery from batteries plus or tractor supply for $15.
