Some of us new to the site are unfamiliar with the Stump Grinder. Will you refresh us on some of the guidelines and requirements to fish. For example. How early on Sat does registration begin? What time on Sat does the the derby end. Any additional info that was not on the link would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks for the inquiry. The flyer gives pretty much gives the details. Tourney is from 7am - 3pm, with 100% payout, 50% for 1st, 25% for 2nd and 3rd.
Heaviest fish, pike OR bass OR pickerel (not per species). Check-in is ON the ice to the left of the parking areas at "the point", look for a rebel flag (snow mobile). You can chop your holes prior to 7am, however all tilts are OUT of the water until 7am, when I sound the horn.
When you check in I'll be given out my cell number to everyone, if you catch a fish that you think should be weighed in, call the number and I'll tell you what the top weights are, if you think your fish beats it, or makes the list, I"ll come out to you via snow mobile to weigh and photograph. While waiting for me to arrive, please try to keep the fish alive by keeping it in the water till I get there, this will limit the fish kill. At 3pm, it'll be over, I'll sound the horn and I'll make the payouts at the registration area. IF YOU CHOOSE TO FISH THE OTHER SIDE OF STUMP (behind the police station) IT'S UP TO YOU TO GET THE FISH TO THE OTHER SIDE AND I'LL MET YOU. (I'd rather not have guys setting up over there to make things easier, but if you insist, it's up to you to get the fish to me).
I'll be getting on the ice before sun up, say 4:30am - 5:00am (ish) and you may start registering then, some have asked if they can meet up with me during the week and preregister. No can do! Let's keep this simple.....
That's pretty much it, weather is suppose to be high 20's with lots of sun. Hopefully the rain on Tueday will knock down the snow and everything will freeze over solid.
