Hey all -

Don't know about your neck of the woods, but in kingston you have to drive a while to find minnnows. Canadian Tire now sells 'em, haven't bought any yet (still have some), but it's nice to know they're in town.

I think it was $7.99 per doz for medium, sm and lrg also available.

Yeah, the reason they sell them is they have to keep some in stock for the tank, so they thought, why not sell them as well. I dont think you will find this in many areas, but it is nice to have

Terrible customer service from canadian tire. I'll drive to battersea or parham to get bait
I personally won"t shop there. In parham the muds are $3 a doz and shiners i think are $4

Just before you get to ambulance station heading towards parham on 38. On the right hand you will see a road with a white sign with live bait on it. His house is the first on the right

Ive never bought minnows there because I dont usually use live bait so I cant comment on the quality or price, but I think the service, in the fishing section anyway, is pretty good. Both Mikes know their stuff and are always willing to help.

yeah the old guy (Mike?) is pretty good. I have found him knowledgeable & helpfull - he even started stocking an obscure lure I couldnt' find on his shelf without me requesting it....the next time I showed up, it was there! That's good service in my books....

Agreed, I deal with Mike (the manager) the most, he is great guy, very knowledgeable, even more in open water then on the ice. He is the main reason that store has one of the best fishing departments of any Canadian tire

ha, sounds like a good story. What happened? Where do you shop around kingston, we don't have a lot of options unfortunately.

i bot minnows at Canadian tire once they weren't the best but hay they cot me a big old pike so no complants but the thing about Canadian tire is you always get a couple of dead ones.

they actually have quite a good sale on all (hard and soft water) fishing gear right now (dangerous!)

They have some good deals on ice combos right now (50% off) but I didnt see too many deals on the soft water stuff, what did they have?

I saw a few rods, few rod & reel combos on sale - had to leave before I broke the bank though

also, they had snowmobile suits, coats, boots, etc on sale

Are Canadian tires around here don't sell Minnows, probably way to many bait shops it seems everyone is selling bait now convenient stores to gas stations

Their store in Kenora started selling minnows about 2 years ago. Price is good, count is so-so, availabilty is sometimes an issue.

LOL well not as far as some but far enough it wasn't always good for bait around here only use to be one shop per town if you were lucky but it seems to have picked up this year and everyone seems to be offering them, hopefully it stays that way cause it was getting pretty expensive at one point but the competition seems to have brought the price back down.

wow im only gona get minnows if i have too from their, i had to pay 11.15 for lrg. and they didnt work i got skunked. hehe im teaching the left overs ones the walleye wiggle tonight.
