Looks like any old tip up.

I have a few called Hardwater explorers, that are like that.
It looks like a custom paint job, my tip ups are all "natural" wood color.

It is nice and bright though.   ;D

I have heard them called Jacktraps, and other different names as well.

Hope this helps,

Wiener

Looks exactly like my HT tip ups, except it was orange and mine are black.  I'm sure they just made some Hi Vis orange ones.  Check out HT Enterprises (Al Linders company).  I'm pretty sure I bought mine at Gander Mount here in Michigan, but I would think most any major sporting good stores should carry them.

I checked their web site and actually couldn't find that model, but they ones I have say HT on them and look exactly like yours except black.  If you haven't discovered them yet, I'd recommend the HT Polar Therm Tip ups.  I actually like these ones better as they keep the hole from freezing shut and you can adjust the tension to release and extend the flag from about 12" to 3' or so.

Good luck and Tight Lines

Looks just like my HTs and copies, except orange and a 500 ft spool.

HT makes orange ones, but Im sure it would say HT on one of the X legs. Id be willing to bet its one of the copies like I have. Cant think of the damn name though.

I agree with you guys that it does look like an HT tipup but it does not have any markings from HT or any other company on it. I really like these tipups and wish I could find out who makes them so that I can order more of them

Bout-Time I think you are the winner!! My son and I just looked at both links you gave me and I think it could be either one of those. The one made by South Bend looks a little closer than the Sub-Zero. I say that only because I have a better look at the SB tipup from the link you gave to me. Thank you very much. Have you ever ordered anything from Erik's bait? I think I may call him and see if he will ship to me. Thanks again for the help and if you happen to remember the name of the other company please let me know.

Im still awaiting response from the ebay seller that had one for sale Trucker. (only it was black) I deleted the email I guess...

The South Bend Celsius looks exactly like yours to me, which is exactly like an HT. The Sub Zero is never shown out of the package anywhere that I could find, so yeah its hard to tell for sure.

Ive used the black version of these tip ups (HT and unknown copy brand) for almost 20 years and simply love them. If you want to check into the HT version of this tip up, (they have the orange ones with 500ft spool and drag too)  go to FishUSA.com.

Ive never ordered from Eriks Bait, so I cant vouch for them.

I know, I know, I'm in the process of replacing all the line on my tipups with vinyl coated line. Just didn't get to that one yet. I bought that rig used last year and that's the way it came. Being my first season I didn't know any better. Been spooled a few times and I just thought it was part of fishing but thanks to the wealth of knowledge from this site I'll be in much better condition this year.

Definately an HT product............. It's the fisherman model and the orange one comes with that 500' foot spool.

If they have no markings on them its hard to tell them apart because they are pretty much identical tip-ups. My HTs have "HT Fisherman Tip-UP" molded right in the plastic one of the cross "legs", and its the only ones that are marked with anything. But.... its easy to tell them from the others.

That reel looks like its bigger than the 200ft ones I have, and it should be around a 500 footer. If you fill 3 quarters of the spool with line you shouldnt get spooled unless you are fishing real deep water..
