Black Rock-Which one?
« on: Jan 04, 2011, 08:45 AM »
Hello all!  I have seen some reports of people fishing Black rock- Is this the dam section? I didnt think you were allowed to fish the actual park- and if anyone had fished there recently how much ice is there? Thanks for the help!

I pass by there all the time in route to better water.  Haven't seen anyone on it.  Consult anglers guide for regs.

I've fished the state park side. There was about 8" or so Christmas eve. I'm surprised you have never seen anyone on there, it usually gets hit fairly hard.

I didnt say never if you read the post. I fished it once in the spring and decided it was a toilet and have not retuned since.

I wouldn't say its a toilet. It is a pond that will make you pull your hair out. It is a place to fish quick after work or just to get out for an hour or 2. If you spend time there you learn where and when to fish it. If you run into the guys that are regulars on it they will leave you shocked at the numbers and size that come out of there.

Thanks for the info..I have seen on a few other sites that they have been pulling 12-18" fish out of there...thought it might be a good opportunity to catch something big.

Good luck I'm sure there a some lunkers swimming in there. The key is just putting the time in to get them.
