On that note: got out on Cedar Lake last night for smelt fishing, and there were maybe 4 inches of bad ice.  I thought for sure that there would be at least 6 inches.

Marked lots of smelt, but getting them to bite was a different story.  A friend also caught a 20" pike on an ultra lite.

I don't know how many of you guys went to the article, but here is my question... the the H is a "fur" tree??  ::)

"fur" was misspelled, should be fir tree, a species of tree in the conifer group.  Usually known as a Douglas Fir in Michigan.  However a number of small furry critters can be found in them.  Heard their easy to skin but hard to stretch,  don't know how much the hides are bringing.
