Some local ice updates
« on: Jan 02, 2011, 07:10 PM »
Just wanted to let you guys know the scoop on some of the water we checked out this weekend:
Bigalow...decent but very soggy. (3-5" water on top of the ice)
Staffordville lake...edges are shady but there were people and atv's on it
Stateline pond...Losing the edges, didnt get out of truck to bother checking the rest
Lake george on rt 19...ice is solid varies from what we saw, 4" all the what to 10", sloppy as well.
pond on new city rd. stafford... edges were shady in spots but quad tracks all over and people on it.
Have a great week and be safe

Went to Breakneck Saturday, that soggy stuff was terrible!  Under the slush the ice was about 5-6" thick.  Great day lots of flags, jigged up a fish for the first time,  3 Crappie, 1 pickeral, and lots of chew and screws.  A couple of people that my buddy knows showed up with their kids and they chased flags all day!  Great time but hope that slush freezes back up for this weekend.  As far as Staffordville is concerned I live in town but only fished it in the summer, if someone wants to give it a shot sometime let me know.
