Ramsey Lake State Park (near Vandalia)
« on: Dec 27, 2010, 02:58 PM »
Just curious if anyone was considering fishing this lake tomorrow (Tuesday morning). A friend of mine can't make the trip with me this time and would like to know if anyone else was considering the prospect. There was fishable ice on this lake Dec. 22nd, but the warm spell and some recent snow might have changed conditions. Fishing for gills and crappie tomorrow!

Let us know how you did.  I deer hunt that area and camped in the park but haven't fished it yet.   Maybe I can squeeze in a combo Late Winter firearms deer hunt/ice fishing trip.

Had a decent day today...ice was 3-4" in most spots. I never ventured past mid lake as the ice was a bit thinner towards the dam. Caught plenty of gills today, but only one crappie. Overall it was a beautiful day and I'm glad I got out before the warm weather. This lake will be unfishable with the coming warm weather and rain the next few days.

tight lines,
