Ice fishing in the okanagan....that's what I live for. It seems that the only time I have for fishing is in the winter so here is where I go. Shannon lake in westbank. Its nice and close to get to, there are bass and perch and the odd rainbow. Alot of ppl go there so finding an open hole is also easy. Postill lake might be a close mountain lake for you. There are rainbows and brookies in it. Both lakes you need to walk two or three Min's from the parking to the lake so throwing your gear on a toboggan or sled will help. I also like Darke lake in summerland for being pretty easy to get to, there are brookies in there and in the winter can be the best time to catch them. Osprey lake is another lake worth mentioning between summerland and Princeton. For me its a long drive but I have pulled huge rainbows out of the far end in the only a few feet of water. Having two ice fishing tents I find some lakes you can watch the fish going after your jig, also being out of the wind you get a few extra hours before you get cold. I have ice fished Bear lake which is more of a mountain lake off of westside road and there are perch and rainbows in there nothing to special about it unless you are snowmobiling on it. I can say that I have ice fished wood lake which you mentioned but I am not a fan of the place...its right on the side of the hwy so there can be a ton of ppl at times and every time I have gone the fishing was slow. It might have just been the time of day I went or what I was using wasn't working but there are so many other lake to try I wouldn't waste my time there. Duck lake is close to wood lake and I have caught huge perch there but I haven't eatten any out of that lake. If you go up hwy 33 you can ice fish at one of the many lakes around McCulloch lake. Also If you are up for going to Vernon there are a couple of lakes that are easy access and worth the trip. Hope this helps...see you on the ice.
