China Lake isn't open until the first but it's got a good start.I didn't check how much ice but most of the basin has ice. This is one lake that you have to be careful in the middle of the winter, many springs.

I did check my bait pond and it had just the right amount for me to set some traps, any more and I don't like to chisel.

Let the little one\\\\\\\'s grow

Anybody been to Lakes bordering Great East recently. Like Horn Pond, Mousum lake, Square Pond, or Wilson Lake. I was at Great East Lake this weekend and there was a solid 2 1/2" on the north sore and a reported 3" on the west Shore still not safe though. I would definitely stay off until late this week since sometimes the thick ice can be spotty. The forecast and Temps are looking good though to thicken the ice.

good one there   now if it wasnt for the treaty 1842

blue line is the current border between Maine and New Brunswick and Quebec established by the Webster Ashburton Treaty of 1842 (also in blue is the western border of Maine with New Hampshire).

The yellow line was the line the British claimed as the border.

The red line was the border claimed by the United States, on the basis of which it undertook various surveys and censuses (including the 1830 and 1840 censuses) of the north bank of the upper St. John River.

The green line was the maximum US claim until 1794, which was never actually acted upon.

Has anyone been out lately in the Bangor/Orono area? I was hoping to get on some good ice before the wife and I travel home to MI for the holidays. Just not sure what the relatively warm weather has done to the ice... I am heading out tomorrow to check some spots and will report but was wondering if I could get a heads up. Thanks

Pushaw isn't looking too healthy, VERY dark with open spots on the edges.  I heard mud pond in old town had decent ice, but that was before rain.  6" before though, but haven't checked personally
