Antero and Elevenmile the past 2 weeks

Fished each lake twice in the past 2 weeks. Got one rainbow at Elevenmile last week. None at Antero. This week at Antero got 2 bows and 1 brookie. Today at Elevenmile didn't even have a bite. Ice is better at Antero than Elevenmile, still lots of bad ice and open water.

I went to the Mile yesterday and only caught a hammer handle the first 10 min I was there. It was quite a bust for most I think. I fished Cross Creek since sucker cove was inaccessible. I haven't bothered with Antero again since my first 2 trips. Seems like most of this season, for me at least, is lack-luster for either fishing or conditions reasons...

Personaly i think the budget crunch has a lot to do with it.  The state skimps back on stocking and fishing is the poor mans sport, more fisherman less fish to catch and more people keeping and eating fish...

Fished the Coyote Ridge area today.9" of semi gray ice. Caught a 17" rainbow and a 15" cutbow. Twice as much open water and ten times as many people compared to last week. For the areas you can access get there early if you have a particular spot in mind to beat the crowds.
