Fished Sandy Hallow last saturday 12/4.  4" of ice.  Someone else was set up on the christmas tree pile when I got there, but mananged to catch three gills in about an hour and a half.  Mostly just played with the new Marcum.

Pahoja Saturday, ice, depends where. I went straight south of boat ramp, punched some holes, caught 8-10 gills. ice was 6" where I was at. 30 yards out or so was open water. With a few warm days mixed in, not sure what it gonna be. heard around shore they were on 3.5-4" ice. Next few nights should be good ice making. Timmy

I can't confirm this, but a buddy informed me that his Father In Law was fishing the pits at Hawarden and caught numerous fish.  He said the Ice was 5" thick.  I have my doubts in the validity of the story.  Heard another report that Synders is not safe yet,  the Fish at Browns have lock jaw.  The geese on crystal cove are causing problems with anglers, and I don't want to drive over to Storm Lake tomorrow.  Long story short, any truth to Hawarden?  I might check that out on Sunday afternoon, and was wondering if any one had any advice.

Have not talked to anybody about Hawarden yet. Did see one shack out Friday. Couple trucks riding around and met one with shack in it. Not sure, but you never know if you don't try. Just hope it is tolerable out tommorow. I will probably be snowed in yet.

Sunday mornings in Sioux county are the best times to go.  Fish in the morning while everyone is at church, then be home in time to watch football for the afternoon.  Don't have to fight anybody to get on top of the christmas tree pile that way.

I don't fish there very often only when I don't have time to drive further. I drive a gray ram and fish from a clam yukon. I put the tree piles in the pits so I can show you the locations if you can't find them.

is there a tree pile about 25 yards off the south shore of the middle pond and about right across for the small tree hanging over the water on the north side
