Get 'em while you can - errr...if you can ;)

who's been out lately?  I spent this morning at Huff's point - got one small one.  Saw 1 guy get a nice 9 pounder though - north of huff's point around 2pm.  He broke off as the fish came to the hole, and lipped that big 'eye :o :o

I'll be out at Huff's again 5am tommorow - come say hi if you're out there.   I'll be wearing ugly orange pants with blue stripe - black subzero hub style hut - name's Dave.

goodluck, the countdown is on!  :)

Hey Dave

I think that was me and my boys beside you; I was in the frabill hut we were out further in 27ft my buddy had one on early and lost it at the hole and i had some bites then we spread out he went shallow to 22 ft and got this guy here then we all moved shallow and so did you guys

9lb 11oz - it was his first time to huffs and his first walleye ever and what a way to break the ice; i'm sure he'll be back it was bleeding pretty good so it got kept

The rest of us got skunked so the next day me and a buddy went closer to shermans and pounded the jumbos got 50 keepers and put some small and midsize back towards the end of the day but we couldn't keep them off while jigging for eyes on the last day of the year so we embraced it and started a bucket

got 50 keepers lots of big jumbos towards the end of the day put a bunch back

that's funny - I might have to get some IS gear for next year so I can find you guys on the ice!  Nice pics....yeah 9lb walleye is a pretty good introduction to walleye fishing - I got my 1st this year...measly 2lb 'er - tasted great though.

those are some awesome perch man - bet they cooked up nice!

you going to hit up the back lakes before the ice is gone?  I think I'll be out on Louborough on the weekend - haven't got a Lake Trout yet

We hit the back lakes regularly too

loughbrough has been tough ive got 1 laker for 4 or 5 outting it was a 23" 3.5lber which was one of the most exciting ice fishing catches that i've actually landed

we've hit verona and dog multiple times as well

but I think were gonna be fishing lake ont a little longer......looking for trophy pike....ill prolly hit loby a couple more times too just isn't much fun getting skunked out there especially when ppl around you are catching them, and i still want a splake through the ice so ill get a trip or to out to dog before that ice is unsafe just to get closer to completing my checklist of species for 2011 ice fishing....splake rainbows brookies and browns are all that are left for me hopefully i can track some down

Hay Bay area

We setup in 16 FOW the weekend before this one and got a pile of perch and I lost a big pike(guessing 10+ lost it at the whole  I happened to be looking through my whole at a perch nibbling at my minnows and a huge pike swooped in and hammered it while i was watching most amazing site prolly woulda been a PB) and later that day my buddy landed a nice 3-4 lber

Hoping they haven't moved too much I want a biggie and there seemed to be quite a few larger "Pike like" creatures showing up on the finder/flasher

I also live on Bath Rd and plan to fish a few spots on that side while theres still ice to see if i can get anything

Walleye is also closed in zone 18 which are all the local backlakes
