Round Lake
« on: Dec 06, 2010, 05:06 PM »
OK' so whats the deal with Round Lake this year??? I was going to fish it last year but ended up keeping away due to all the Posted signs and tow away rumors. Any new developments or news. its not the best, but its a nice little spot close to home and the truck to take the little ones out for 2 or 3 hrs of fresh air. Can't understand why they would try to take it away from us? ??? ???

Round Lake  has some overzealous Town officials, I dont think they can tow you, but I am sure someone with a better knowlege of the situation will chime in, I am close as well....

The posted signs went up last ice fishing season due to the motorized vehicles on the lake (quads, dirtbikes, etc.).  Apartment owner near the launch complained until the Village took action.  The Village claims they are up to protect them against liability - vehicles backing out of the launch area onto a busy Route 9.  The posted signs are still up, but the Village to this point in time has not filed any complaints to any police agencies to have trespass tickets written.  Could you be ticketed for a parking violation on Route 9?  Yes.  Has it been happening to my knowledge since the signs went up?  No.
