Detroit Lakes area first ice
« on: Nov 27, 2010, 10:27 AM »
Has anyone been out yet in the Detroit Lakes area this holiday weekend? I'm on call this weekend but have been thinking about taking a drive to check on a few spots and just wondering if anyones been out yet. I heard reports of folks falling thru on the news but I think they do those reports all season. I'm pretty sure if nothing else I'll find somewhere to fish by next weekend.

Checked out the big water this AM & it looked like Otter Tail  lake was iced over...  smaller lakes should be ready for foot travel very soon.

Ya I got a bunch of vaca time to burn yet at work so I think I'll take most of next week off. This should give me enough time to get my gear in order and find a small lake or bay to fish by Friday.

If the weather holds everything should be real good by then. Have the wheeler ready to go, got one sled ruining today, and going to start on another tomorrow . Sure don't need any snow, to mess things up!
