I have been looking at one of these online. Has anyone seen one in person and what were your thoughts on it.

Havent seen one yet, but it sounds like a great idea.

Just got one last week. its a great design but a real pain to assemble. I looked all over for it but ended up getting it directly from frabill.

We got a bunch in the shop and I've had to assemble a few for customers. They are a pain but are MUCH easier with a second set of hands. A cordless with a 7/16" deep socket and a wrench on the other side will make it a breeze  ;) I'm down to less than 20 minutes now... ;D

Anybody played with one of these a little more indepth yet?  I am hoping to sell my ICE 35 and use it towards the purchase of a one man shelter.  These look pretty awesome but I wanted to get some more opinions.

It looks like the rod locker is a separate compartment and it is open underneath all the other hatches.  Has anyone seen one in person that can confirm or dispute this.  I was hoping for a small tackle compartment for tackle trays, a rod locker, and then the rest open for flasher, bait buckets, etc.

The rod locker is its own compartment. the only access to the bottom area of sled is underneath the seat. its a good design. i didnt like the way my hinges fit on the rod locker area. but other than that its as good as china can produce i guess.

I just perchased one and would agree that it's  hard to assemble for one person. second set of hands would be helpful and must have a extention on a battery powered screw drive. as fare as the sled i did get a chance to pull it in the snow about 1 1/2 deep and pulls little hard so i mount a set of cross country skies under it and helped. I'm going to install a 1" spacer between the skies and the bottom of the sled just to give it more ground clearance. it will need it to keep the bottom of the sled from dragging in deeper snow.

AS fare as the design of the max look like it going work out to be a organized fish machine. The commando hard top and the trek 2 man hard top are the same.  the rod lock is very large and can hold 6-8 rods with out getting tangled up. as fare cons: if u drop something in the bottom of the compartment you be searching awhile to find it. you almost have to tip the sled up to get everything that on the bottom to slide to the front or back hole. For he commando it a little difficult to reach the front compartment once u pull the cover up. the commando has plenty of fishing room set is comfortable (only sat in it in the garage for couple min). plenty of head room can stand up bent slightly but plenty to get up and stretch. plenty of doors vent & windows for natural light. I cant wait to get t out on the ice Oh its bit heavy load  but i can load it in back on my 4x4 truck. by putting the front of the sled on the tail gate and push i up from there.

This is my third season for with my regular Commando.  I absolutely love it when I need it.  Only negative is that it gets really heavy in a few inches of snow.  I can't imagine the organization for the new Max is that much better than the regular Commando to justify the weight.  And the back ache LoL
