What do you use for a rod locker?

Hard to justify 40 bucks for a HT plastic one   Lol

Post a photo if homemade

Thx

Real simple and it's functional  - A plastic bucket with a 4"piece of foam in the bottom  (I use a kitty litter bucket only because it's square and sits well in the truck)  drill 4 or 5  1" holes in the foam and stand your rods up right     done deal   keeps your rods out of trouble, untangled, and clean

flambeau rod bunk box, had to make modifications by cutting into the foam with a utility knife, I can get 5-8 rods and reels (not attached) depending on the lengths of the rods in the box. Friend has an otter Pro-Tech 40 Deep Rod Case which he has 6 rods all rigged up in, it's way more expensive but it feels way more sturdy and it's much larger. This year so far they have been awesome way better than tossing them in a bucket or wrapping them in jacket in the back seat of the truck. We both have rod holders we made for sleds so the boxes don't come out on the ice with us, but we walk everywhere. I would trust the Otter for better durability albeit at 3-4x the price especially if I was towing a sled with an atv or snowmachine. Flambeau should be fine for walking or just keeping them safe transporting in car/truck. The eagle claw box is very similar. I think the foam has slightly different cut outs and it's just slightly longer very similar products. So far the really cheap feeling plastic clasps are working just fine even when exposed for hours so low single digit's. So far I like it a lot.

I used a gun case last season for 25 dollars

Got an eagle claw for 50 this season, it holds 5 rods and some tackle boxes underneath. The clasps on it do suck and I am waiting for them to break, I was telling my buddies, all they needed to do was make it a piano hinge, its almost like its supposed to break...other than that, its solid. I'm just gonna be careful opening it so they don't break.

It should hold 6 spinning setups fine, I can only get 3 spinning and 2 bait casters in it, the reels kind of cause an issue.

I got a rod case for Christmas from Scheels. ~$120 give or take. I spent an afternoon loading it up with all my rods and tackle. Set it down on the floor when I left the room. Came back to my 5 year old standing on it. Zero damage to the rods inside.

Any damage to the 5 year old for standing on the rod case?  ;D

I believe in capital punishment, so I chopped her foot off. The left foot, if you're curious...

Just bought the clam rod holder holds 6 rods comfortably and has 3 pockets one for drill battery and other 2 will hold a decent amount of stuff  and other side I have 3 has jawjackers in it so far I am very happy with it
