I'm a big fan of the popups.
They're a little less portable, but offer a ton more room to move around.
I guess it kind of depends on how you fish and who you fish with.
My fishing partners are 6 and 9. Popup is the only way to go for us.
The angle of the dangle is directly proportionate to the heat of the beat.

I have the eskimo quickfish 3 man shelter and I love it. I've had it for two years and no problems sets up quick take down even quicker even in the wind I set it up and take down by myself. It's perfect for a couple people. easy to pack and transport. very well made should last a long time

I have a Shappel 6000 4-man pop up. I only used it about 3 times late last season but I love it. It is very roomy--I can lay out all my stuff comfortably and stay warm without a heater. Plus, it goes up and breaks down fast. I highly reccommend it.

pop ups are sweet, but it does keep you from being as mobile as a flip over.so i would say it all depends on your fishing style.me personally i have a  flip over and a suit case style pop up

It depends on your style.  I have fished out of an older QF3 flip over/sled (green canvas/bench seat) and a new QF6 pop up tent.  Both are very nice and roomy.  If you are into setting up quick and moving alot when the bite changes go with the QF3.  If you like to hunker down and stay for awhile, maybe spend most of the time outside tending to tip ups than the QF6 would suit you better.  The QF3 is very roomy, we had two guys on the bench and I sat on a bucket.  We had four guys fishing in the QF6 with plenty of room to spare.  It was kind nice to be able to walk around and not be confined to a chair.  It all depends on your needs on the ice.
